MLUS Teachers and Support Team

At MLUS all of our teachers are BC certified and have experience teaching in international school settings. They use best practices to promote academic success with all students. Our support team provides career and personal counseling to students and maintain regular contact with parents – we have Mandarin speaking staff on-site and provide support in other languages with assistance from the university.

MLUS Admission Requirements

Students are admitted in grades 10, 11 and 12 based on their previous grade completion, academic and English readiness and a strong commitment to their studies.

MLUS Admission Process

Step 1 – Learn About our School

We encourage you to talk to our team to discover what makes our school the right choice. Contact us at mlusadmissions@mapleleafschools.com. We are now accepting applications for the September 2017 term. Applications should be submitted as early as possible. Applications received after June 1st will be accepted based on availability.

Step 2 – Apply

Visit our website and complete our fillable application form, print a copy of the completed form, sign it and send a copy back to us by email (in pdf format) at mlusadmissions@mapleleafschools.com, mail at #1210–1130 W. Pender Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada V6E 4A4, or fax at +1 604-428-8510. If you do not have the application form you may request it by email.

Step 3 – Send Your Application Fee

The non-refundable application fee of $300 can be sent by electronic funds transfer. Our office will provide you with the banking details once we have received your application form. You may also pay the application fee by cash, or cheque made out to Maple Leaf Education North America Ltd.

Step 4 - Send Additional Required Documents

Our admissions office will advise you of the additional documents that you will need to provide, including: passport photo ID page, complete transcripts and progress reports from the past 2 years of schooling, and current reports with certified English translation.

Students require an average of at least 70% in their previous studies. English language ability suitable to study at the BC grade 10 level – students studying ESL will be required to sit and Entrance Exam and demonstrate English ability at this level. Behavioural records and teacher comments are all considered in the application process.

Step 5 – Interview with Principal

If we need to assess your current English level our admissions office may arrange an in-person or video interview (Skype or WeChat) for you with our principal.

Step 6 – Notification of Results

Our admissions staff will inform you of the school’s decision within two weeks of completing the admissions process.

If we are able to offer you a space in our school we will send your Letter of Admission. We will then assist you with the study visa application process.
