Teacher Employment Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in teaching at a Maple Leaf School in China. Currently more than 185 British Columbia (Canada) — certified teachers are teaching in Maple Leaf Schools.
Due to the significant planned expansion of Maple Leaf Schools in China, Maple Leaf Educational Systems will need to hire more than 75 per school year. Most of these teachers will be BC-certified (academic) teachers for Maple Leaf’s high schools (Grades 10-12) and some will also be required for the Maple Leaf’s Foreign Nationals Schools (K-9). English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers are also required for Maple Leaf schools.
Academic teachers require valid British Columbia teacher certification. This may be obtained from either the BC College of Teachers or from the BC Ministry of Education (Independent School Teacher Certification).
ESL teachers require a Bachelor’s degree. Also, a Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Certificate is preferred.
