Principal’s Message
Welcome to Wuhan Maple Leaf International School. We are an international school accredited and inspected annually
by the British Columbia, Canada Ministry of Education, one of the top education systems in the world. All students
at WMLIS take Canadian courses taught in English by certified British Columbia teachers. This program of study leads
to a B.C. Dogwood diploma that is recognized around the world at top colleges and universities. Chinese students take
courses in Mandarin from certified Chinese teachers that qualify them for a Chinese graduation certificate as well.
Our campus is located in the East Lake High-Tech Development Zone. The school was opened in 2007 and our first graduating class will receive their diplomas in June 2010. We currently enroll over 700 students and expect to grow to 2000 in the next few years. Our facilities include fully equipped classrooms, science labs, computer rooms, a multi-media room, cafeteria, gymnasium and dormitories.
The school mission is to blend the best of East and West by promoting higher level thinking skills and ensuring that all students master basic skills in numeracy and literacy while they develop skills and knowledge in advanced studies in their areas of interest. We take pride in providing an environment that fosters positive student growth intellectually, physically and emotionally. Our school values are respect, responsibility, honesty and hard work and we strive to create a positive school climate that prepares students for future studies at post-secondary institutions around the world
