Superintendent’s Message
Thank you for visiting Dalian Maple Leaf International School: Jinshitan High School
Campus on-line. We welcome you, and appreciate your virtual visit. We encourage you to visit
our Jinshitan High School campus in person, whenever this would prove possible.
This high school was the first Maple Leaf School. It opened in 1995 with only 14 students, but with the clear vision of Mr. Sherman Jen, the founder, to provide a quality educational program that blends the best of East and West. Today, approximately 2,300 students are enrolled on this campus.
The Dalian Maple Leaf International School: Jinshitan High School Campus not only was the first Maple Leaf School, it also was the first pilot school for British Columbia, Canada, as its Ministry of Education developed British Columbias Canada’s Offshore School Certification Program.
Located in the Jinshitan National Holiday Resort, only minutes walking from the ocean, the 17 acre campus is ideal for delivering British Columbia's certified high school program. Students are taught in English by approximately 100 British Columbia, Canada certified teachers. British Columbia’s Ministry of Education conducts annual, on-site inspections of the school and certifies its educational program as one that meets British Columbia standards and learning outcomes. Maple Leaf high school students are enrolled as British Columbia, Canada students, complete the same courses, are assessed by the same standards, meet the same learning outcomes and write the same Grade 10, 11 and 12 provincial examinations as any student resident in British Columbia. Grade 12 graduates receive the same high school (Dogwood) diploma and transcript of marks issued by British Columbia’s Ministry of Education as any resident student in British Columbia.
