Thank you for visiting Dalian Maple Leaf International School: Jinshitan High School Campus on-line. We welcome you, and
appreciate your virtual visit. We invite you to visit our Jinshitan High School campus in person at your convenience. We would
be pleased to give you a tour of the campus.
Dalian Maple Leaf International School (DMLIS) was the first of the current 6 Maple Leaf Schools offering the British Columbia, Canada, educational program. It opened in 1995 with only 14 students. Mr. Sherman Jen, the founder, had a vision and purposed to provide a quality educational program “Blending the Best of East and West”. With an additional new campus that opened in September 2009, Dalian Maple Leaf School now offers single gender education serving 2400 students on two separate campuses at this location.
The Dalian Maple Leaf International School: Jinshitan High School Campus not only was the first Maple Leaf School, it also was the first pilot school for the government of British Columbia (BC), Canada offering a certified British Columbia education offshore.
Located in the Jinshitan National Holiday Resort, only a few minutes walk from the ocean; the 17-acre campus is ideal for delivering British Columbia’s certified graduation program. The BC program is led by a BC certified principal and students are taught in English by more than 125 BC certified teachers. British Columbia’s Ministry of Education conducts annual, on-site inspections of the school and certifies its educational program as one that meets British Columbia standards and learning outcomes. Maple Leaf high school students are enrolled with the BC Ministry of Education, and complete the same courses, are assessed by the same standards, meet the same learning outcomes and write the same Grade 10, 11 and 12 provincial examinations required by all students in British Columbia. Dalian Maple Leaf Grade 12 graduates receive the Ministry of Education Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood Diploma) and are issued the official provincial transcripts the same as British Columbia, Canada, Grade 12 resident graduates. More than 2000 students have successfully graduated from this campus and continued on to attend 261 universities and colleges around the world.
