Principal’s Message
It is with pleasure that I welcome you to the Dalian Maple Leaf Foreign Nationals
School website. The School provides an English instructional setting for kindergarten to
grade 9, as well as an English language preschool experience for three and four year olds.
Our mission as a British Columbia, Canada accredited school for grades K–9 is to provide our students with a rich language environment that supports the development of critical and divergent thinkers able to work collaboratively with others from a variety of countries and cultures. Our student centered school fosters active life long learning and promotes healthy student development academically, socially, emotionally and physically. As well, our kindergarten to grade nine students have the opportunity to learn Chinese as a Second Language. Our preschool is designed on a constructivist model supporting young children’s exploration of the world and developing their language through real life experiences and imaginary play.
As a school we believe that educating children is a shared responsibility between home and school and that a positive relationship between home and school is important to the success of our students. For this reason, parents play a important role in our school as partners in their children’s learning, as volunteers and as participants in school events.
