Mission Statement
Dalian Maple Leaf Foreign Nationals School (DMLFNS) provides a K-9 educational program taught in English by British Columbia (BC), Canada certified teachers to students with foreign (non-Chinese) passports, whose families generally reside in the Dalian area.
Regardless of race, color, or country of origin the School’s goal is to provide a sound educational program that meets the learning outcomes of the BC curriculum and educational standards for BC’s Offshore School Program certification. As Canada consistently scores within the top countries
in international academic assessments, and British Columbia consistently scores within the top two
provinces of Canada, British Columbia’s educational program is highly regarded around the world.
The DMLFNS’s educational program is implemented, policies administered, student discipline exercised and school environment generated in a manner that promotes healthy student development, academically, socially, emotionally and physically in a learning environment where teachers and students are treated with respect and dignity. Instruction incorporates a wide variety of teaching strategies as listening, seeing, doing, speaking, discussing, reading, writing, analyzing and creating. Higher level thinking skills, problem-solving approaches and group work are implemented throughout the educational program to develop critical and divergent thinkers able to work collaboratively with others. DMLFNS’s mission is to provide its students with a sound, English educational program that will equip them well for their future education and their lives in a global world.
